Warm figs with soft brown sugar and almonds

This is one of my favorite desserts: warm figs with soft brown sugar and almonds. And it's so simple, even I can make it!
The original recipe from the River CafĂ© Kookboek Easy 2 uses ricotta, but I love it like this:
For 4 persons, all you'll need is:
  • 12 figs
  • 100 grams white almonds (crushed in small parts)
  • butter
  • lemon
  • 2 spoons of soft brown sugar

The preparation:
  1. pre-heat the oven to 150˚C
  2. butter a baking dish
  3. incise the figs by cutting a cross on the upper side of the figs; push the lower side of the figs upwards, so that the figs open up
  4. put the figs in the buttered baking dish, pour the lemon juice over them and sprinkle the almonds and soft brown sugar   on top
  5. put the baking dish in the oven for 10 minutes
  6. after 10 minutes pour the juice over the figs and put the dish back into the oven for 5 more minutes
  7. serve up the figs and eat them while still warm
Happy dessert!
