Conservatorium Brasserie & Lounge |
Originally built to house a bank (the Rijkspotspaarbank), but for us youngsters better known as the building that housed the Sweelinck Conservatorium, it now has been transformed into a grand hotel with 129 rooms, a wellbeing center, meeting rooms and two restaurants: the Conservatorium Brasserie & Lounge (for afternoon tea and sandwiches) and the Tunes Restaurant & Bar by chef Schilo van Coevorden. You can also do some shopping at the Conservatorium Hotel, for instance at jewellery shop Bonebakker, which after 2 centuries sadly had to close its shop at the Rokin in 2010.

If you want to have lunch or dinner at the Conservatorium Hotel, be aware that you already have to book two or three weeks in advance. But, seeing this is a hotel, walking in is easy and free, and so is flaunting amongst the hipsters in the lobby!
